Block and Estate Management is about the minutia done well: the role of a Managing Agent is technical, administrative, practical and political. It takes joined up thinking from a multi-disciplined team with one eye on the strategic long term plan and with sufficient resource to react to whatever is necessary day-to-day: the skills that block and estate management spans are: politics, building pathology, finance, legal knowhow and of course customer service too.

As a leading Managing Agent, we are a one-stop-property shop. We understand that our role is sometimes signposting Clients to get expert advice and supporting them to interpret such advice and make decisions. We support and help owners reach out to government and other local services where matters are beyond our day-to-day block management remit.

Towards Practical Completion we will be preparing always to mobilse new assets, take plant handover, recruit great teams and lease up fast.
We work to enhance the value of our Client’s asset and demonstrate good governance. To us this means engaging with leaseholders, residents and other stakeholders to ensure they are engaged with the management of each development.
Our aim is to make Management Company Directors feel empowered: to us this means 100% transparency and advising them of the options available to support decision making. We know volunteer directors have a day job, so work to delivery what they need in a timely manner and guide them on the decisions we need.

History of Mile End

Mile End is situated east of the City of London, in the borough of Tower Hamlets. It is 4 miles from the centre of London.
In 1288, Mile End's name was first recorded, as it developed one mile from Aldgate. Hence, this is how the area got its name. 
In 1657, Oliver Cromwell granted permission to establish the first Jewish burial ground. It has been referred to as one of the most hallowed spots for British Jewry. 
During the 18th century, Mile End Road was a curious mixture of merchants' houses and industrial buildings, including a brewery and a distillery. Currently, a blue plaque at 88 Mile End Road shows the site of the house where the explorer, Captain James Cook, once lived, from 1764 until his death in 1779. Cook was killed on his third voyage to the islands of Hawaii. He was attacked by an angry tribe, because he had tried to kidnap their ruling chief.
Until the early 19th century, Mile End Road and surrounding areas remained largely agricultural. Many Victorian terraced houses were built, and the mostly poor Jewish population grew. 
In 1876, Dr. Barnardo converted local warehouses along the Regent's Canal into Copperfield Road Ragged School, to provide poor children with a basic education. It was the largest of its kind at the time. This establishment is now The Ragged Museum. 
In the 1880s, colleges were built along Mile End Road; and in 1915, some of these buildings became part of the University of London. 
During the early 20th century, conditions worsened in the Mile End Road area. After World War II, (1939-1945), bomb sites and slums, including Captain Cook's house, were cleared. The area was rebuilt intensively. 
Until the late 1970s, many blocks of flats were built, as well as less prominent housing association buildings. Along Mile End Road, some gems of Georgian buildings remain. However, these are less in number than the many shops and take-aways.

Bathroom/en-suites include wall hung semi pedestal basin, Carla wall hung concealed cistern WC, with dual flush and Carla 140 litre Eco bath.
All apartments have the benefit of ventilation system, by Airflow/Titon. Floor finishes consist of ceramic tiles to floors of separate kitchens, Tarket wood flooring in kitchen/living/dining rooms and hallways. Bedrooms have wool mix carpet, and bathrooms have ceramic tiles to walls and floor. 
 

Best places to eat out in Mile End

Gracewood Construction create attractive homes, built to last. The homes are thoughtfully designed, to specify building materials and architecture, that reflect and enhance the local area. 
The studio and one, two and three bedroom homes will be two storeys high, on top of five existing low rise apartment blocks, with a further 11 apartments being developed in a former garage space. 
The project will give improvements to communal areas, landscaping and play spaces. Play equipment will be upgraded, and 251 new bicycle parking spaces will be created. 
The nearest station is Mile End, Underground, 0.1 miles away. Bow Road, Underground, and Bow Church, Docklands Light Railway, are both 0.4 miles away. Limehouse, Docklands Light Railway, is 0.7 miles away.

Things to do in Mile End

Tower Hamlets Cemetary Park, Mile End, London, E3, is a 31 acre nature reserve and heritage site. This is a pleasant woodland cemetary and place for remembrance, with an abundance of wildlife. Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetary Park (FoTHCP), is an award winning charity, who run many events, including activities for children, and there is a heritage trail.
 

Mile End - Cultural Scene

The Pizza Room, 2a Grove Road, Mile End, E3, is a must for pizza lovers. This Italian restaurant offers both dine-in and take-away. There are starters, sides and salads. The signature pizza menu has a good choice; and there are gourmet pizzas and vegan pizzas. Customers have the opportunity to "customise" their pizza: to pick the base and add more toppings. The drinks menu includes beer, white wine, red wine, sparkling wine, soft drinks, cocktails, spirits, coffee and tea. There is a good dessert menu.
